It is a good day
to dye
eggs
To hide
and then find
they will be buried
in hay
or perched
out of the obvious way
symbols of the living
precariously placed
in a landscape
where spring
is exploding.
Colorful crescents and fertile fragments
that peek out
of private places
some cracked,
some heavily decorated,
compelling.
Shells as strong as archways
ironic by design
supporting and protecting the way
they also break so easily
like the innocence
of child’s play.
